Pupils at Umul Qura School have been given DIY training at school so that they can tackle common repairs at home. Pupils were given a booklet that was developed by Farah Ibrahim and they attended weekly classes.
Many of the students found these classes beneficial as they felt more able to tackle simple DIY projects on their own. The governors of the school hope to engage local businesses so that they can give the pupils practical work experience and possibly employment once they finish their studies.
Umul Qura School would like to thank all those who have contributed to this project and especially Farah Ibrahim for his continued support and guidance.
